Recorded A Few Songs At Rehearsal Tonight.

Recorded a few songs at rehearsal tonight. Not very good recordings, but not the recorders fault. Some of the instruments were not going through the board. so they were washed out, as were the vocals, due to the drums burying them. It was a good first attempt though. We'll try again tomorrow night at the Sport Center and see what we get. Everything will be going through the system then, so maybe there will be a little better mix on the system.

Productive Day At Rehearsals

Practice was a good one today. We went over a few new songs. Some will be ready to premiere on New Years Eve (Hopefully).

We rocked up an old Sonny James song from the 60's called "Running Bear". We kind of rocked up the drums a little bit and added a little distortion to the leads. Came out kind of cool. Looking forward to rockin' it out on stage.

Day Off From Rehearsal This Week.

No rehearsal today.

Chad is going out of town today. He is headed into the hills.

Evan hasn't had a day off from his day job for awhile, so we are going to take the weekend off.

I bought a new toy online today. It's a ZOOM H2 portable audio recorder. I hope to get some good quality live recordings of our shows. Hope it works. It ought to be shipped here by the 19th of December. Hopefully we will soon have some better recordings posted online here in a few weeks! Can't wait!

    Snowy Night At Thomas Waldo's.

Headed up to Paonia to Thomas Waldo's again last night.

I think the snow may have been an issue last night. Not quite the crowd we are use too seeing, but everyone who came out seemed to have a good time, as did we.

It was a very exhausting weekend, but definitely a fun one.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support us!

Sport Center Lounge... Hell Of A Party!!

We had another awesome time at the Sport Center Lounge in Delta last night. I believe it was the biggest crowd since last New Years Eve for the venue. Everyone seemed to kick up their heels and have a good time.

Cabin Fever will be back in Paonia tonight. Come on up to Thomas Waldo's and Join us!

Lee Douglas sat in with us for a few songs and did a good job. Thanks Lee!

Hope everyone made it home through the snow ok.

Make your plans to come out for New Years 2012! We'll be back at the Sport Center Lounge for another Rockin' New Years Eve Party!

    New Cabin Fever Logo!! Awesome!!

After Thanksgiving dinner with the family, my nephew Chris Robinson and I got together and designed a new logo for the band. I thought that it turned out pretty dang cool. Chris is a master at Photoshop! Thanks Chris!!

    Thomas Waldo's Last Night

    Played Thomas Waldo's last night.

It started out to look like it was going to be a packed house, but apparently, there was some kind of music entertainment going on at the bar across the street. Folks kind of wandered back and forth through the night, so the crowd was a little less than average then usual.

Never the less, we had an awesome time as did everyone who came out. Another awesome party at Thomas Waldo's!

Evan got us booked in Thomas Waldo's for two more dates in the next couple months:

    Dec 3, 2011
    Jan 7, 2012

Come on out a join the fun!

    Sunday, November 13, 2011

    Awesome Rehearsal!

Awesome practice today! 7 or 8 more songs added to our list. We'll try to debut them next Saturday night up in Paonia at Thomas Waldo's. Come on up and check us out! Looking forward to it.

I thought that maybe it might snow on the way out to Chad's, but it didn't. Pretty good threat though.

Andy cut some ads out of the newspaper last week. They are advertisement ads in the Cedaredge paper for the Halloween party we played for at the Ponderosa.

    We Made The Paper...

Chad gave me a news paper last night. It was a copy of the Mountain Valley News; the Cedaredge paper.

On page 13 of the October 5th edition was a picture of the Cabin Fever Band playing on Main Street at Applefest. The article doesn't mention our names, but it's nice to see that out of all the bands that were playing that day, we were the ones to make the paper. Thanks Mountain Valley News!

    Played Thomas Waldo's

What a night in Paonia last night. We had another absolutely killer time playing at Thomas Waldos again. That place is quickly becoming one of our favorite places to play. It's been a packed house every night we've played there. They sure do love to kick up their heels there. Thanks to Thomas Waldo's for having us out!

If you haven't been, you really need to go. Awesome time!

We will be back at Thomas Waldo's on November 19th. Come on up and party with us!

We had an awesome time in Cedaredge this morning at the Applefest. It seemed to be a great turnout this year. Thanks for having us out! Hopefully, we can do it again next year.

Played the Montrose Elks Lodge. Its been at least 20 years since the last time we played there. Everyone seemed to have a good time. The crowd was kind of small, but that seem to be normal for there. Be that as it may, we had a great time and thanks for having us out. We are looking forward to playing there again.

    Thomas Waldo's Kicked Ass!!

What can I say? I may have found a new favorite bar. Cabin Fever rocked the house at Thomas Waldo's last night. Quite possibly one of the best times we've had in years. Andy counted 68 people in that little place at one time of the night. A packed house!
Be it rock or country, Everyone seemed to enjoy everything we did. Paonia definitely still likes to have a good time.

Thanks to Thomas Waldos for having us. Definitely hope to be back up there again soon.

Kudos to Brenda for helping us out with the Rodeo Song. That was a blast! Hope to see ya there again next time.

Brandon & Hanna's Cow Camp Wedding.

    Congratulations to Brandon and Hanna!

Headed up on the Uncompahgre Mesa for Brandon and Hanna Douglas' wedding.

I met Evan, Chad and Andy at the Railroad tracks in Whitewater. They weren't sure where they were going, so they followed me up. I wasn't totally sure where it was at either and we went about 5 or 6 miles past it. We finally found it though.

After the wedding and after people had finished eating, we started playing about 1:30 PM. Other than about two 20 minute breaks, we played straight through till about 5:30.

Everyone seemed to enjoy us and had fun. We had a good time.

Thanks for having us out guys! Give us a call if you decide to do it again next year! lol

We'll be on the stage on main street. The PA will be provided along with a sound guy, so we'll only need drums, guitars and amps. We will play for about 45 minutes. Ought to be a fun time!! Come on up to Cedaredge!

Chad is also working on getting a public dance setup at Pea Green Hall. Watch the schedule and Facebook for more details!

Awesome practice today! we are in the process of learning another Eagles song. You wanna know what it is? I guess you'll just have to come out and catch one of our shows. ;)

Very productive today. Rehearsal clicked nice today. It was a little bit hot in Evans basement, but we made due.

We baked in the hot sun for 2 hours, but it was definitely worth it. That was fun!

Tested out the new mixer board. It came with an owners manual, so its kind of nice finally figuring out what the knobs and buttons actually do. Nice!

Rehearsal went good. There's not a lot of time to really hit the new stuff. When we aren't playing every weekend, we have to keep going over the list to stay fresh on the songs that we are currently doing. In time though, we will be adding new stuff.

Black Canyon Cafe.. Git On Up Here!!!

Put on your dancin' shoes and head on up to the Black Canyon Cafe in Crawford Colorado, July 8th and party with the Cabin Fever Band! There will be drink specials from 8:30 to 9:00 PM!! The band starts at 9:00 PM and Liz has informed me that a taxi service will be available, should you over indulge!! No excuses this time. It could, once again be the party of the summer!! DON'T MISS IT!!

Talked To Liz At The Black Canyon Cafe.

I was in Crawford today for the Pioneer Day festivities. I went in for lunch at the Black Canyon Cafe and talked to Liz. I got us booked in there again on July 8th. Friday nights are hard to do with our day job schedules, but I think we can make it work. She says that on friday nights they draw a better crowd. Folks up there have a hard time getting up on sunday mornings for church, so they don't like going out on Saturday night. That sounds logical.

    Drifters Pig Roast Cancelled.

Well, I got a text from Evan this morning and he said that the Drifters, inadvertently, booked 2 bands for their pig roast and the only way we will be playing for it is if we play it for free. Looks like the pig roast is cancelled. I don't think we will ever be playing for the Drifters anymore. We have been playing music for well over twenty years. I'm sorry, but our time is definitely worth paying for. I had a feeling this was going to happen. It's happened twice before. Their loss.

New Mixer Board On The Way.

It was a good rehearsal today. We went over a few of the songs that we hadn't played in a while. Tightened them back up again.

Evan ordered a new mixer board this week. It's a Mackie 16 channel unpowered board. It has built in effects. Ought to be a good board. We are going to get together on Friday and see if we can get it dialed in for our gig on Saturday.

By the way, we will be playing for the Drifters Pig Roast down here near Palisade. Apparently, there will be a number of other bands playing too. Not too sure as to how many. We still don't know where it is we are going or what time we are playing. we just know somewhere between Clifton and Palisade. I guess it's a big secret.

Went to Olathe this evening straight from work.

Chad and Andy were there when I got there, but Evan was running a little later than me.
About the time we got everything fire up, he showed up though.

We had a real good practice. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood and ready to play.

Evan says that the Drifters Pig Roast will take place between Clifton And Palisade. I'm still not sure of the address or the time schedule, but they try to keep it a secret until the last minute to prevent party crashers.

    Sound Troubleshooting Tonight.

    Practice went good tonight.

We setup the equipment like it was an actual gig to find out what are sound issues are and the cause. We are all in agreement that the board has some bad channels.

Evan is going to take it in again and see if it may be just a dirt issue. About 6 channels are affected. If that is not the case, than I believe we will be in the market for a new one

We went over a few songs off the list tonight. Songs that were a little sloppy at the last gig.

    Sunday, May 8, 2011

    Sport Center Lounge...

Back at the the Sport Center Lounge last night.

It was a good night. We had a lot of fun and a better than average crowd.

Andy was still a little sore from his surgery last week, but he pulled the night off without a hitch.

I think we are on the verge of looking for some new sound equipment. The sound board we are using is over 20 years old and I think is near the end of its life. Channels are going out of it and parts for it are obsolete. Our speakers are older yet and are beginning to crack making it that much more harder to get a good clean mix.

I think most of the people that was there were there for karaoke that is normally there on Saturday nights, but they all seemed to have a good time.

Thanks to the Sport Center for having us back!

    Sunday, May 1, 2011

    Laid Back Rehearsal.

It wasn't a super productive practice, but we made due. Andy was home resting up from his surgery, so we just went over a few of the old songs on the list that needed to be touched on a little. We spent most of the time organizing a new set list. We should be ready for the Sport Center next Saturday. Hope there is a good crowd! Hint hint..

Next week we should know a little more about the gig at Sam's Tavern in Montrose. Hopefully, Evan can get us booked in there. Cross your fingers!

Trio Rehearsal. Andy Had Surgery Yesterday.

Rehearsal today is, once again, going to be a trio. Andy had surgery on Thursday, so he will be down a few days. I'm not sure of the details of how the surgery went yet, but when I find out, I will post his condition. Certainly hope he's getting along good!

Evan sent me a text this evening wanting to know if the 5th of May was good for getting back into the Sport Center. After looking at the calendar, I noticed that the 5th was on a Thursday. With our "Day job" work schedules, it's just too hard to do a gig on the week days.

He later sent a message that it would be the 7th of May instead. Whew! That's a relief... We going to try a Saturday night and see if there is an improvement in the patron attendance.

So, with that cleared up, we are going to be back at the Sport Center On May 7th. Come on down and check us out!

    Blu Sky Saloon Tonight.

Cabin Fever Band headed up to Cedaredge tonight for a biker birthday party. We setup and started playing at 7:45 and played till a little after midnight.

It was a birthday bash for the president of the Vietnam Vets Bike Club. We had a real good turnout. There were bikers from all over the country. Everyone seemed to have a good time. We got a few good recommendations and a lot of good comments.

A biker that use to play rhthym guitar for George Thorogood years ago, commented that we had a "Good sound and a nice blend." That was cool!

We were all pretty tired at the end of the night. It took a while to get everything loaded up, but it definitely was worth it.

    Busy Evening Rehearsal.

First time back together playing in 3 weeks. I took off to Florida for vacation for a couple weeks, so we didn't get much rehearsal time in.

All and all, it was a very productive rehearsal. We went down our set list and touched on a few things that were a problem and got them ironed out. Some songs still have some bugs in them, but with a little more playing time on them we'll get them.

Tomorrow night we head for Cedaredge, Colorado to the Blu Sky Saloon. We are playing a birthday party for the the president of the Vietnam Vets Bike Club.

Rockin' At the Sport Center Lounge.

Thanks goes out to all the folks who caught the fever at the Sport Center Lounge. We had an awesome time.

Tonight was the first official booking for the "Cabin Fever Band" return. The first of many more shows to come.

We used Evan's mixer tonight, so we had a few sound issues tonight. I think we will be using Mike Levins system from now on until we get a better setup. Half way through the night, we blew a main speaker. That was part of the sound problem. I noticed it when I loaded it in the truck. The speakers are about 25 years old, so it's really no surprise.

    Saturday, February 5, 2011

Booked At The Blue Sky Saloon On March 5th.

Evan had to work a little bit today, so he was late getting to practice. Even with that, it was still a productive rehearsal.

Chad, Andy and I met at Evan's about 2:00 PM. We added another song to the list while we were waiting for Evan and fine tuned it when Evan finally arrived a little after 4:00. Practice lasted about an hour later than usual.

Evan booked us for March 5th at the Blue Sky Saloon in Cedaredge. Unfortunately, it is for a private party, but maybe it'll work into something else.

Clay was born in Kremmling, Colorado on February 27, 1957. He spent his childhood and adult life in the vicinity of Olathe, Colorado, where he graduated from Olathe High School in 1975. AWESOME Rehearsal!!

Band practice was one of the most productive rehearsals to date. Awesome day!

We have about 3 more songs nearly ready to add to the song list.

Evan is in talks with the Sport Center and nearly on the verge of getting another booking there. We may have to play for the door there a couple times, but at least we'll be playing. It could work into other gigs.

The Blue Sky in Cedaredge is looking for a band on March 5th for a veteran biker party, that may be a good possibility there too.

    Uploaded Music To Reverbnation.

I was finally able to get a couple more songs uploaded to Reverbnation. "Ghost Train" and "Can't You See". Talk about pain in the butt. I'll post more on there later, now that I have an idea of how to do it.

Chad Is Sick Today. No Rehearsal.

Well... Chad is sick again today. Band rehearsal has been postponed until probably next weekend. Bummer.. I was looking forward to getting out and driving on the icy, snow packed roads. Not really.

There was 2" inches of new snow on my fence again this morning. It's supposed to snow some more today and tonight.

    Uploading Audio..

I worked most of the day today trying to get the audio extracted from the video that was taken on New Years Eve. I got it done, but the audio isn't the greatest even after I cleaned it up. I posted "Words To Me" on Reverbnation.com. So far, that is the only song that would upload. I will add more when I figure out why they won't upload.

    No New Years Video.. Sorry.

I watched the video that was taken on New Years Eve. It definitely wasn't very good. It was too dark and I knew it was going to be, but I thought that maybe the audio would be better. I was wrong. It just wasn't worth editing and posting. Sorry.

I thought that I didn't get any video of "Switchback", but I did get a full set recorded and about 1 3/4 sets of "Cabin Fever".

    A New Years Rockin Eve!!

I headed for Olathe about 3:00 PM, fully expecting the roads to be nasty, but they weren't too bad. Just a little icy in spots and only about 17 degrees.

Chad, Evan and I packed up the equipment and headed down to the Sport Center Lounge in Delta. We setup and got the sound going before everyone else got there.

Tonight was the last gig for "Switchback".

Switchback played the first two sets and "Cabin Fever" finished out the night. Both bands did an awesome job and we had a great turnout. "Switchback" definitely went out with a bang. It was a blast!

I hooked up the video camera to record the night, but I only got "Cabin Fever". For some reason I still have a problem pushing the "record" button on the camera. I can't seem to push it hard enough I guess. Oh well, I got Cabin Fever, for the most part.t.

Tonight was the first gig with the 5-string bass. I had a few string issues on the bass, but nothing that anyone noticed. I did all right as long, as I didn't think about the extra string.

Everyone seemed to have a great time. It was a FUN night.

It was 3 below in Delta when I left and 3 above when I got home just before 3:00 AM.
