Chad booked us at Applefest in Cedaredge on Saturday Oct. 1st. I'm not sure of the exact time yet, she said either 10:30 or 11:30 AM and will call later with the details.

We'll be on the stage on main street. The PA will be provided along with a sound guy, so we'll only need drums, guitars and amps. We will play for about 45 minutes. Ought to be a fun time!! Come on up to Cedaredge!

Chad is also working on getting a public dance setup at Pea Green Hall. Watch the schedule and Facebook for more details!

Awesome Practice today

Awesome practice today! we are in the process of learning another Eagles song. You wanna know what it is? I guess you'll just have to come out and catch one of our shows. ;)

Very productive today. Rehearsal clicked nice today. It was a little bit hot in Evans basement, but we made due.

The next gig is for Brandon and Hannah's wedding up on Divide Road on August 6th. Looking forward to it! It'll be a blast! I gotta try and remember the video camera.

Deltarado Days Party On The Street.

We had a fun time out at Deltarado Days. It was a pretty good show. We made a little extra unexpected spending cash. Thanks to all who showed up and passed the tips. It was very appreciated! To all the folks that didn't come out. You missed out again.

We baked in the hot sun for 2 hours, but it was definitely worth it. That was fun!

Thanks to Don from the David Starr Band for running the sound for us. Awesome job!

Played The Colorow Care Center.

A good time was had at the Colorow Care Center in Olathe. It was a pretty good turn out. The elderly folks seemed to have had fun. I know we had a good time.

Thanks to Colorow for having us out and thanks to everyone for coming out. Happy 4th!

CABIN FEVER.. The Early Years

"Cabin Fever Band" started out in the mid 1980's. Evan heard that I played bass guitar and asked if I wanted to play.

The original band was a five piece. In the beginning we had a banjo in the group, but that didn't last long.

Musicians came and went over the years. Maybe you'll know some of them:

Clay Hemstrom, Jan Vandeveer, Jim Vigil, Scott Morford, Mike Jackson, Dean Abbott. (I'll add more as I remember them).

Chad Schmalz came into Lynette's Hydeout one night and set in with us. He was looking to play guitar in the group and we were looking for someone to play guitar. We hired him that night.

Shortly after, Chad's nephew, Dean Abbott joined the group on drums and we went four piece. Dean was a talented drummer, guitarist and songwriter. Some of the material Cabin Fever played was written by Chad, Dean and Kevin.

Cabin Fever band played in various venues: The Lazy JR (Burned to the ground), Lynettes Hyde-out, Olathe Sweet Corn Festival (consecutive years), Almont Resort, The Hitchin' Post, Bullfrog and Halls Crossing Marinas at Lake Powell.... The list goes on. Lot's of good times and memories.

After a few years Dean left the group to persue other interests. He got married and moved to New Mexico.

After a few frustrating drummer changes, Cabin Fever Band split about 1997.

Evan Hyde, Kevin Robinson, Chad Schmalz and Andy Fish are burning with the fever again. CATCH IT!
